About me

I am a stay-at-home mom of 4, a wife to a pretty awesome husband, a servant of Christ, & a holistic birth attendant in Plymouth, IN.

I've had a hospital birth for my first baby, an undisturbed home birth attended by a Birthkeeper, and 2 freebirths.
In my free time I enjoy going on little adventures with my family, trying new coffee shops and health food stores, foraging, reading, writing, fiber arts, guitar, and playing board games with my husband.

My Story & Purpose

I felt called to birth work before I even became pregnant with my first child. I researched everything about birth when my husband and I were trying to conceive, and felt a pull towards becoming a doula. When we found out I was pregnant, I wanted a home birth with a midwife or a freebirth, but ended up started care with hospital midwives, where I ended up giving birth. During and after the birth, I was managed, stitched, catheterized, lied to, and disregarded. Among the bad, there was good as well. I felt tired, in pain, in bliss, irritated, empowered, and helpless all at once. I decided I wanted to have a home birth with my next baby. My next 3 babies were born wild and free, at home.  With my second I hired a wonderful autonomous midwife serving in a Birthkeeper role. She helped give me the confidence I needed to trust my body by giving me support, and answers to my questions. It was a wonderful birth experience! With my third and fourth births, it was only my husband and I, working together to bring our baby into our arms.  My husband was the first person to touch our baby.  I was the person to cut the umbilical cord, suck out mucus, feed, weigh, and warm our baby, and examine the placenta. It was freeing, peaceful, and beautiful! I was not afraid of anything. I had complete faith in the Lord, and in my body to do what I was created to do. It is my desire for you to have that feeling with your birth; to cast away fear, have total trust in the Lord, and to have the support, information, and resources you need to step into motherhood with a strong foundation. She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet. - Proverbs 31:21

Mission

My mission is to serve and mentor families holistically through birth and the childbearing years to help them establish strong foundations for living and parenting in Christ.

Vision

I see a future where the Body of Christ is free of bonds, and Jesus permeates the lives of every believer and those they come in contact with.

A world where individual families are nourished mind, body, spirit, heart and soul; supported and edified with prayer, community, and fellowship; and empowered with resources and education, from the start of life, to the end, by the Body of Christ; so that theirs and the generations they raise will bring glory to God.

Beliefs

• I believe God is sovereign, Lord of all, and that He designed everything to reflect Him and His glory.

• I believe in freedom, grace, and salvation through Jesus when we believe in Him and repent, putting away our old selves and receiving His Spirit.

• I believe the Body of Christ should be in unity and free of bonds.

• I believe families and all people thrive best in uplifting communities, and that loving support and fellowship are vital for everyone.

• I believe in educating and equipping others so that they can make the best decisions for them.

• I believe in living as designed, eating whole foods, intentional daily movement, and nourishing the whole person, mind, body, spirit, heart and soul.

• I believe in the sanctity of life; that all lives are valuable, and that life and death are in God's hands.

• I believe birth is a natural function designed by God, and that it is foundational to every aspect of life.

• I believe birth is usually best left alone, and that it works best when the "ingredients of physiological birth" are respected.

• I believe God is The Great Midwife.
